2011 Outing Dates and Contacts

The outing dates for 2011 are starting to come in. The format will be similar to previous years. All members are invited and guests can join us for a nominal fee. Starting time for fishing will be any time after 4PM and will end at dark. Once fishing has ended we meet at Smokey's Musky Shop to share food, stories about the ones that got away, and pictures of those that did not.

In order to determine how much food we need to prepare we ask that you please call in advance and register for the outing if you plan on attending. If you have a favorite dish that you would like to bring or some snacks or a dessert please let us know. Any help would be appreciated.

In efforts to keep the outing costs down this year we are planning to do something different with the fishing contest/prize this year. Details have not been completely determined at this point and we would like to hear your comments and suggestions. One idea is to run this like a monthly fishing league with a onetime $25 entry fee ($5 per outing). The person that catches the biggest muskie at each outing wins a set dollar amount, based on the number of people that have entered. Any money collected above and beyond the winner's cash prize will be set aside and used to help pay for the food and/or to purchase a separate prize (rod or reel) to be raffled off among the paid participants at the last outing. So even if you don't catch any fish you still have a chance to win a nice prize. The other option is to have a cash tournament at each outing where you would notify us if you want to be in the tournament when you call to register for the outing. Let us know your thoughts.
